Project Overview – Modern Kitchen in Escondido
Shirin, a homeowner in Escondido, had a bold vision for her kitchen: a dramatic, ultra-modern space that would serve as the home’s stunning centerpiece. The design required a minimalist European aesthetic, a powerful black-and-white color palette, and a social layout built for entertaining. Our team was tasked with the design, creation, and precision installation of the custom cabinetry to bring this vision to life.
At Reza Custom Cabinet, we specialize in building and installing Custom Kitchen Cabinets that make a definitive style statement.
Features of the European Style Kitchen
Cabinet Style: True European-style flat-panel (slab) doors, creating a seamless, architectural, and minimalist profile.
Material & Finish: Custom-built Maple cabinets featuring a sophisticated matte black painted finish, providing a deep, uniform color.
Countertops: Striking white quartz countertops with heavy, dramatic black veining. The island features a luxurious waterfall edge, where the countertop cascades down the sides to the floor.
Central Island: A massive, multi-functional island that houses an integrated cooktop and offers a spacious bar seating area, acting as the primary hub for both cooking and socializing.
Design Details: A completely handleless design (push-to-open or channel pulls) to maintain the uninterrupted, clean lines, complemented by a sleek stainless steel island range hood.
Layout: Floor-to-ceiling cabinet walls that seamlessly integrate the pantry and refrigerator, creating a fully built-in and high-end aesthetic.
Design Challenges & Solutions – European Cabinets in Escondido
Challenge: The main objective was to execute a high-contrast, minimalist design that felt luxurious and bold without sacrificing functionality. The large, open space demanded a strong focal point to anchor the room.
Solution: We centered the entire design around the oversized island with its stunning waterfall countertop, establishing it as the kitchen’s gravitational center. The choice of matte black, flat-panel cabinets provides a dramatic and monolithic foundation, allowing the heavily-veined quartz to stand out as a piece of art. The handleless finish was critical to achieving the uninterrupted, sleek aesthetic that defines high-end European design.
This project is a prime example of our expertise in modern Kitchen Remodeling.

Questions You May Have
They are characterized by a frameless construction and flat-panel doors, which create a sleek, handleless, and minimalist aesthetic with maximum interior storage.
Yes. Quartz is an extremely durable, non-porous material. A waterfall edge not only adds a dramatic design element but also protects the sides of the island from wear and tear.
Black is a timeless and sophisticated choice that acts as a bold neutral. In a well-lit space and paired with contrasting elements like white countertops, it creates a classic, high-end look that will not go out of style.
Common methods include “push-to-open” hardware, where you press the door to release a latch, or integrated channel pulls (J-pulls) routed into the top or side edge of the doors for a hidden grip.
