The owner of this beautiful Rancho Bernardo home wanted to create a bright, organized, and truly inspiring home office in a room blessed with a large, sunlit window. The challenge was a common one: how to add extensive storage and a generous workspace without blocking the precious natural light or the beautiful view. A standard desk simply wouldn’t do. Our team was commissioned to design and build a stunning, wall-to-wall custom office suite that perfectly frames the window, turning it into the room’s undisputed centerpiece.

- A long, wall-to-wall credenza that serves as a spacious desk, featuring a multitude of deep drawers (including file drawers) and cabinets for maximum concealed storage.
- Two tall, flanking bookcase towers that provide a perfect mix of lower cabinet storage and open, decorative display shelving.
Architectural Integration: The entire built-in system is meticulously designed to create a perfect, symmetrical frame around the double window, maximizing natural light and making the outdoor view an integral part of the office environment.
Hardware: Sleek and modern brushed nickel bar pulls that add a touch of clean, contemporary style to the classic Shaker cabinetry.
Design Challenges & Solutions – A Window-Centric Design
Challenge: The primary goal was to design a fully functional office with maximum storage capacity that didn’t just accommodate the large window, but actively celebrated it. The built-in needed to feel like an original, intentional piece of the room’s architecture, providing a seamless and custom fit from wall to wall and floor to ceiling.
Solution: We centered the entire design around the window’s exact dimensions, creating a perfectly symmetrical layout with the long credenza/desk running underneath and the tall bookcase towers framing the sides. This approach naturally draws the eye towards the view and floods the entire workspace with inspiring natural light. The beautiful two-tone design—pairing the light and airy painted cabinets with the warm, organic feel of the stained oak shelves—adds a layer of custom sophistication and visual interest that elevates the entire room.
