Symmetrical Storage: The central bed unit is flanked by two tall, perfectly symmetrical towers, each featuring a bank of three deep drawers at the base and an elegant upper display cabinet with glass-insert Shaker doors and interior shelving.
Finishing Touches: The entire unit is finished with stately crown molding for a complete, architectural built-in look and is accented with chic, modern brushed brass/gold hardware that provides a stunning contrast to the green finish.
Design Challenges & Solutions – Engineering Elegance
Challenge: The core challenge was to engineer a large, complex, and multi-functional piece of furniture that was not only beautiful but also perfectly balanced, structurally sound, and easy to operate, especially given the moving parts and significant weight of the Murphy bed mechanism. The design needed to conceal the bed so flawlessly that the unit would look like a classic, high-end library wall when the bed was closed.
Solution: We designed the entire unit around the precise technical specifications of the Murphy bed hardware, guaranteeing a safe, smooth, and effortless operation. The front of the bed was masterfully crafted to appear as a series of large Shaker cabinet doors, completely hiding its true function. By fully integrating the flanking storage towers and the upper cabinets into a single, cohesive unit, we created a magnificent piece of furniture that allows the room to transform from a spacious den to a luxurious bedroom in mere seconds.
